A new Framework Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Defence within the area of Civil and Military Aviation has been signed on the 20th April 2026. The new Agreement replaced the old one dated on the 7th October 1997.

The new Agreement is based on current legislation Act No 49/1997 Coll., Civil Aviation and No 219/1999 Coll., Armed Forces oh the Czech Republic, defines interdepartmental cooperation in the area of aviation and establishes a fundamental Framework of collaboration between the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Defence in the area of airspace management and its provision, especially in services provided, airspace provision, dual use of navigational infrastructure, data sharing and dual use of airports/aerodromes in the country. The areas of creation and approval of flying procedures, as well as remotely piloted aircraft systems have been newly added to the Agreement, as considerably very important nowadays.

The agreement also contains the framework for future agreements between the Civil Aviation Authority and the Military Aviation Authority based on the § 51 of current legislation Act No 49/1997 Coll., Civil Aviation. All the previously signed agreements on the subordinate level remain valid and those could be updated on demands in the future.
